The brief: make two systems communicate
Fascent needed to connect its Shopify store to a third-party logistics provider. The project established bidirectional communication for orders, inventory and shipping information.
The integration was built from the provider’s API specifications, adapting the exchange of information to both platforms.
Sending orders and retrieving updates
A webhook sends new Shopify orders to the provider. Scheduled jobs then retrieve order statuses and information and synchronise them back into Shopify.
A periodic inventory sync also reflects the logistics provider’s stock information in the store.
Supporting different delivery methods
The scope covers both home delivery and pickup-point delivery. Each option requires the right information to be passed to the provider so the order can be processed correctly.
Maintaining the connection
Ongoing maintenance accommodates changes made by the provider and addresses issues as they arise. The result is a dedicated connection for Fascent’s fulfilment workflows, integrated with its Shopify store.
