From an extension to a distribution platform
Cliift started with a Zapier extension that distributed gift cards through Shopify. As the product evolved, businesses needed to manage and distribute credit to employees, with visibility into balances and transactions.
The project supported the move to a platform connecting enterprise and beneficiary accounts, gift-card providers and the administration team.
Connecting providers and accounts
More than ten third-party APIs were integrated behind a common API for gift-card generation and distribution. Parent-child account relationships connected professional and beneficiary stores.
In-store balances allow credit to be retained for future use. Transactions are accompanied by a traceable record available to the relevant users.
A dashboard for daily operations
The administration interface brings together user and access management, enterprise and employee accounts, transactions and gift-card providers.
It also includes tools for credit and refund operations, reviewing platform indicators and editing the PDFs associated with gift cards.

Documenting the API for future development
API documentation describes HTTP endpoints, expected payloads and possible responses. It provides a reference for day-to-day maintenance and planning new capabilities.
The delivery combines an integration layer, an account and balance model, transaction traceability and management tools built around Cliift’s operations.
